Autumn's April day

by Chrissy710

Autumn’s April Day

The bleak grey skies awash my dawn
Instead of Summer blue
The golden yellow’s, russet reds,
Rain down with autumn hue.

Cool breezes blow throughout the day
Bare arms no longer wear,
Transition time of seasons bring
This change and will not care.

When night has turned into my day
I hear sweet birdies sing
I lie awake, my thoughts run wild
What words today shall bring.

I never know what will transcend
Until the final verse
From a blank start, words will appear
Then from my mind disperse.

Like autumn leave these words fall down
Then scatter on the page
But wither not, they will survive
And like this poem age.
