A weird dream

A Dream Within a Dream

by poetwatch

I had a weird dream
where fire is scorching our souls.
Everyone is running
as a cow stands on a flagpole.
With hooves positioned in four directions
no flag waves in the wind.
Our enemy lives within,
He is US.
I see him to prison,
but he slips through the cracks.
I wake up and go back to sleep.
Strange, now demons are in control
building an even higher wall.
We're the prisoners
with our backs to the wall,
but the creature that's inside
gives us greed to survive.
The drugs are for our children
so they will smile.
Smoke is now our table,
we eat from his fire.
We have the power to protest.
They have the guns to stop unrest.
Then, the roads run red with blood,
and I see our children die.
There's no milk from the cow
money's cow chips on the ground
and the laugh is loud.
I wake up from this dream
with the roar of a plane
poisoning the sky.

I know everyone has dreams, most times we don't recall everything or none at all. Yet, sometimes it's too weird that it won't let go. They say that there is some truth in dreams if you find anything let me know.
