Cyclone off our coastline

Whipping Waves

by Aussie

Whipping waves sandy caves
Idyllic life threatened
Children paddling, dogs barking
This Island paradise called home

Whipping waves rising, mammoth peaks
Sea rushes through empty streets
Never a cyclone so powerful strikes
Families huddle together in terror

Rain beats down, bent on destruction
Animals cling to swaying palms
Precious goods sailing by
Terror struck idyllic isle

How tiny is man to fight terror
Taking lifestyle for granted
Mighty hand of the Lord
Calms the raging waves

We have a cyclone on the east coast - not the first or the last. They do shocking damage when they cross the land. I hope it goes back to sea! Thanks for reading.
