Unspoken Words

by Dawn Munro

Dear Lord,

He talks about honor as if he's blind to all my inadequacies.
He sets a pace I can't think about without growing weary.
He holds out help like the cost to him is nothing, while to others, it is everything.
He journeys through life a rock, on solid ground, but believes he flails - so humble, my friend.
His strength is light in a cavern of darkness, his faith, a mountain's summit.
God, bless him, and keep him safe because...
the world needs him.

I ask it in Jesus's name,
and humbly thank You
for blessing my life
with people like
my friend,
Bill.

My Friend, Bill

There is a man who walks with God,
down darkest paths of fear.
He doesn't see that where he's trod,
all Heaven gathers near

to heal the hearts, and hold the hands
of all who call him friend.
This man, so brave, traverses lands
to comfort at life's end.

May God supply the strength he needs,
and keep him safe from harm -
Bill Stephenson seeks sow the seeds
that glow with Glory's charm.

Dr. William Stephenson, counselor, author, and I am privileged to say - friend - may God bless and keep him. Buy his book - "Conversations". *Winner of a New York Book Award* (and he donates the proceeds to a woman's shelter)

A beloved, fellow FanStorian, Bill embodies the love of Christ, and our purpose in life (in my opinion). I believe he has a special calling, and answers it - every day...

(My review of his book, which appears on the jacket, to tell you why you need to read it, if you haven't already...)
"If words alone could break a heart, inside the pages of this book are words that would shatter it, and yet, somehow, each of Dr. Stephenson's poignant stories leave the reader uplifted, as if life might be fraught with pain, but the unstoppable human spirit can conquer all. Teenagers whose faith challenges the best of clergy; A young boy, whose courage in the face of death equals that of the mightiest superhero; A widow, whose paralyzing grief is finally set free by compassion. Dr. Stephenson's stories are the stories of our lives. They might resemble nothing that has actually transpired in our own lives, but every story and poem touches something the heart recognizes, resonates with the depth of understanding only the human spirit can know. This is the finest work of nonfiction, and if you read nothing else this year, I recommend you read Conversations." Dawn Munro
