Celebrating Australia Day

by Chrissy710

Australia Day 26/1/2018

At home I sit in comfort, free;
Reflecting on my life you see.
Ah yes, today is one to share
My country's riches, now declare
.

Our hist'ry's young, our land is old
Where many splendid stories hold;
Her secrets shared with those who see
Potential possibility.

We are a multi-cultural race;
For many, there’s no better place.
The black, the white, we all emboss
Raise up our flag, the ‘Southern Cross’.

What makes our country here so great?
Our Aussie greeting, “G’day mate”
It’s said with friendship warm and true,
Comes with a smile and handshake too.

How glad I live where kangas roam,
We both can call Australia home.
With no restraints and peace at hand
We are the wealth of this great land.
