A Conversation With Jesus Christ

by Harry Smith

Good morning Jesus Christ,
thanks for looking over me last night.
And for waking me this morning
so that I can see day light.

It's good to have you here with me,
thank you for staying near.
Feeling you close to me, has
eliminated my fear.

You know I love you Jesus Christ
and I know that you love me.
I know that you are the reason Lord,
for whatever I've come to be.

I give you all the praise my Lord
because you deserve it ALL.
You're always by my side my friend
to pick me up whenever I fall.

Jesus, I love our conversations,
because they make me so strong.
With you as my best friend my Lord,
I know noting will go wrong.

And when things don't go my way,
I kneel to you and pray.
Things always seem better to me,
at the beginning of the next day.

You protect me when I am out in this World,
You keep me from all harm.
And when I lose my confidence
You take me by the arm.

You lead me in the right direction,
So that I won't get lost.
I'll always be a faithful child,
no matter what's the cost.

When I am hungry, you always feed me,
and when I am sick, you always heal.
Forgive me for doubting you sometimes
my Lord, and thanks for being real.

You have shown me so many things my friend,
all throughout the many years.
I love you Jesus Christ,
you have always dried my tears.

And when it is time for me to go to sleep,
to lay my body down.
I will fall to sleep so easily,
because I know You are around.

I just wanted to talk with you today,
before I go on my way...
