All I Have to Give

I'll Follow You

by MelB

I've been broken, battered, and bruised,
and You healed my body over and over.
I've been knocked down so many times,
and You picked me up off the ground.
My heart has been shattered into a million pieces,
and You put it back together piece by piece.

You've allowed trials, testing, and tribulation,
and given me the strength and will to get through.
I've been backstabbed, ridiculed, and mocked,
and You removed the evil from my life.
I've started down a wrong path many times,
and You gently guided me back to the main road.

When my self-esteem, dignity, and worth were lost,
You restored and showed me that I'm Yours.
When I've thrown down my armor and wanted to die,
You willed me to pick it up and fight another day.
When I've fallen to my knees and lost all hope,
You lifted my chin and showed me all hope is in You.

I have nothing to offer You, but these two small hands.
I give my heart, mind, and soul over to You
to do what only You can with it.
I give my whole life to You.
We made a pact, You and I, to heal hearts.
You lead the way, and I'll follow You.

This was supposed to go in the Shouts out to the Lord club, but I somehow messed it up. This poem is my attempt to pick myself up right now. My cat died yesterday and my heart is broken. She blessed our lives for 14 years, and we miss her terribly!
