EXT. POLICE CRUISER SUMMIT NEW JERSEY - DAY
Marty and Joe are talking in their squad car as they're driving through their normal beat.

JOE (Mid 30's)
How did your poker game go last night?

MARTY (Early 20's)
I was rolling in the dough, until the end.

JOE
(Chuckles.)
What happened, bud?

MARTY
I went all in on a pair of aces.

JOE
(Surprised)
You bet all of your winnings on a single pair?

MARTY
I thought he was bluffing.

JOE
(Laughing)
Will you ever learn?

DISPATCHER
(OS)
Be advised, We have a disturbance call at 1040 Williams Street.

Marty glances at his partner.

JOE
Tell her we can be there in five.

He flips on the sirens.

EXT. WILLIAMS STREET SUMMIT NEW JERSEY - DAY.
Standing up, Anna sees Sparky chasing the women down the road. They're screaming as they run for safety. Police sirens are sounding all around her. Taking the dog whistle out of her pocket, she blows. Sparky stops and turns back around. She blows the whistle again.
Seeing the canine heading her way, Anna ducks between the fence and the garage. She follows the path to the alley. Looking back she sees Sparky right behind her. Anna notices cop cars zooming past her when she glances ahead. Peeling off her wig, and mask, Anna shoves them into her purse and then glances around again. Two more cruisers are speeding towards the house.

ANNA
(Nervous)
We've got to get out of here, quick.

She and Sparky run to her car.

Int. Summit Police Department - DAY.
You see the daily hustle and bustle of a busy police station. Some officers are dragging suspects in, while others are escorting them out. A few officers are talking to people at their desks, while others are typing up reports.
The sergeant and Jeff are sitting at their desks. Kevin walks over to them.

KEVIN
Myles' alibi checks out. Mrs. Lathen was on the phone when he left.

JEFF
I think you need to see this, Sergeant.

ELIZABETH
What is it?

Elizabeth walks over to his desk.

JEFF
I found an elderly lady running to Mrs. Lathem's door right after Myles left.

Jeff glances at a piece of paper lying on his desk, then he glances at the screen.

JEFF
She fits the description of the lady in the park perfectly.

ELIZABETH
Go back to the neighborhood, see if there are any cameras in the area, talk with the neighbors ask them if they remember something and find out if forensics can do a facial recognition of this image.

KEVIN
Yes, Sergeant.

Stepping out of his office, Jack walks to the detective's desks.

JACK
Sergeant, Detectives, we just got another call. A lady was found dead in her car over on Williams street.

ELIZABETH
Jeff and I will head over there. Kevin, you go back out to Rotary drive.

KEVIN
Yes, Sergeant.

                                                                                                                                                               CUT TO:

Ext. WILLIAMS DRIVE - DAY.
It's a nice quiet established residential area with its extravagant over-priced homes and picture-perfect lawns. The neighbors are gathering around the house trying to figure out what's going on.
The maid is waiting for them on the porch when Jeff and Elizabeth pull up.

JEFF
(Shaking his head)
The victim is an elite, just like all the others.

ELIZABETH
This is getting ridiculous.

The maid runs towards them as they climb out of the car.

JUNE
She's over here, she's over here.

June runs towards the driveway. The officers follow behind her. Glancing inside the car they see Summer Matthews lying sideways on the seat.

Elizabeth turns towards the maid.

ELIZABETH
Did you touch her, or try to move her?

JUNE
I felt for a pulse but that's all.

ELIZABETH
When did you discover her?

JUNE
A few minutes ago.

ELIZABETH
Does she have any health conditions?

JUNE
She hasn't mentioned anything to me.

JEFF
Did an elderly lady happen to visit you today?

June gives him a puzzled look.

JUNE
Yes, a vicious dog was trying to attack her so I brought her inside. She waited a few minutes then left.

ELIZABETH
Did you get a good look at the dog?

JUNE
Too good, I'll probably have nightmares tonight because of it.

ELIZABETH
Can you describe the dog for me, please?

JUNE
He was black and tan with a long pointy nose, like a German Shepard.

JEFF
Was your guest here when Mrs. Lathem pulled up?

JUNE
No, she left a few minutes before she arrived.

ELIZABETH
What did you two talk about when she was here?

JUNE
Not a lot really, I explained that I was the housekeeper and that I watch the baby when his mom is out chasing men.

ELIZABETH
Is there anything else?

JUNE
No, she only stayed for a minute, had a glass of water and left.

ELIZABETH
Can I see her glass, please?

JUNE
I already washed it.

ELIZABETH
So what happened after she came inside?

JUNE
She sat down at the table. I got her a glass of water. She drank it and left.

JEFF
Is this the lady?

Jeff shows her a picture from his phone.

JUNE
That's her, she's the one that was here. She didn't do anything wrong, did she?

ELIZABETH
We just need to ask her a few questions.

JUNE
You don't think she did this, do you?

June points to the car.

JEFF
We don't know.

Elizabeth turns towards her detective.

ELIZABETH
I'd like to get prints from the table, and chair.

JEFF
I'll let forensics know.

Jeff walks away. Elizabeth turns toward the maid.

ELIZABETH
Have you informed Mr. Lathem?

JUNE
He's on a flight back from San Fransico now.

ELIZABETH
Do either of them have any enemies, scorned lovers, exes in the picture?

JUNE
I'm sure they both have plenty, but I couldn't name any off the top of my head.

Elizabeth gives her an inquisitive look.

JUNE
They keep their personal life to themselves. (pause) I actually prefer it that way.

Mike walks towards the ladies.

MIKE
Jeff said you wanted to lift some prints?

ELIZABETH
Where was she sitting?

JUNE
I'll show you.

She leads them inside the house. June walks over to the dining room table.

JUNE
In this chair.

ELIZABETH
I want this entire area fingerprinted, and be sure to do elimination prints on the family.

Mike
Copy that, Sergeant.

                                                                                                                                                              CUT TO:

INT. ANNA'S APARTMENT - AFTERNOON
Walking through the door, Anna plops down on the couch. The dog jumps up beside her.

ANNA
That was close, Sparky.

The dog growls.

ANNA
I don't know what I would've done without you.

Sparky licks her face.

ANNA
(Laughing)
You're my only true friend, Sparks and when this is over you and me we'll go somewhere really nice, alright?

The dog licks her again.

ANNA
I'm thinking I should change my strategy a bit. Maybe get a new look, find a different way to approach them. What do you think boy?

The dog barks.

ANNA
I wish I could understand you.

The dog whines.

ANNA
(Laughing)
Exactly.

Jumping up, Anna starts pacing across the floor. Sparky follows behind her.

ANNA
How am I going to do this?

She stops in the middle of the floor.

ANNA
I know exactly what I'm going to do.

Running to the closet, she grabs a wig box off the top shelf. Removing the lid, she reaches in and pulls out a tangled brunette wig.

The dog growls.

ANNA
(Laughing)
It's just hair, see.

She brings the wig down in front of him. Sparky's fur stands on end as he backs up towards the kitchen.

ANNA
(Laughing)
Ok, ok, I'll put it up.

She puts it back in the box.

ANNA
I better get a different mask too.

                                                                                                                                                              CUT TO:

INT. SUMMIT POLICE STATION -DAY
The two detectives and the sergeant are sitting at their desk. The normal commotion continues all around them.

ELIZABETH
Did forensics come up with anything on the image?

JEFF
They were able to restore the picture, but nothing came up in the system. Not even on a statewide search. They're still hopeful about the prints.

ELIZABETH
The only similarity I can find between the victims is that they all have a reputation for being easy.

JEFF
The new victim too?

ELIZABETH
She was the worst one of all. So I'm thinking maybe the killer's husband cheated on her with these women and now she's out for revenge.

JEFF
That's possible, Sergeant.

ELIZABETH
Kevin, look into recent divorces cross reference your findings with suspicious deaths, see what you come up with. I'm going to talk to the town gossip, see if she can give me a little insight into our victims' activities.

JEFF
Are you sure you want to do that, Sergeant?

ELIZABETH
Why not?

JEFF
The way she blabbers, you'll probably be there for days.

ELIZABETH
You're right, give me an hour, then call.

JEFF
(Smirking)
What if I forget?

ELIZABETH
You'll be on desk duty for a month.

His face turns solemn.

JEFF
I won't forget, I promise.

ELIZABETH
(Mumbling under her breath.)
I thought that'd change your mind.

Smiling Elizabeth starts to walk away. Leo runs down the hall towards her.

LEO (LATE 30'S)
Wait up, Sergeant.

Elizabeth turns around.

LEO
You'll never guess what I just found out.

ELIZABETH
What, Leo, what?

LEO
The facial recognition didn't work because she's wearing a mask.

Elizabeth turns towards her detectives.

ELIZABETH
Find out who carries this particular mask.

JEFF
We're on it, Sergeant.

                                                                                                                                                           CUT TO:

932 SOUTH AVE. WESTFIELD, NEW JERSEY - DAY
Anna looks around at all of the costumes when she steps inside. Seeing a salesman at the counter she walks towards him.

ANNA
I'm looking for a mask for a costume party.

HENRY
Well, you've come to the right place. What would you like to go as?

Laying her money on the counter, Anna looks around. Henry steps up beside her.

ANNA
How about her?

Anna walks over to a mask. The salesman takes off the peg and hands it to her.

HENRY
You want to go as Harriet Truman?

ANNA
Yeah, why not?

HENRY
No reason, I guess.

He walks towards the counter as the bell above the door chimes.
Anna turns to see two officers walking into the store. She ducks behind some clothes.

ANNA
(Talking real fast)
Can I try it on first, see if I like it?

HENRY
We have a mirror on the back wall.

The salesman points to the far end of the store.
Anna sees the officers getting closer.

ANNA
Never mind.

Anna darts down the isles. Henry looks down at the wad of cash on the counter.

HENRY
Hey, you forgot your change.

Anna slips through the door before it closes.

Putting the money in the drawer, the salesman turns towards the cops.

HENRY
How may I help you, officers?

Glancing out the window, Henry sees the lady running down the street.
Kevin turns to see what he's looking at but doesn't see a thing. Shrugging, he turns back around.

JEFF
We're wondering if you sell this type of mask.

The salesman takes the picture out of Jeff's hand.

HENRY
We use to, years ago, but they weren't a hot item so we stopped carrying them.

JEFF
Is there any way you can look at your records and see who might have purchased one?

HENRY
It's going to take some time.

JEFF
We can wait.

HENRY
I'm talking a few days maybe longer. See we stopped selling these about six years ago, so I'm going to have to dig up old files from the basement.

JEFF
We'd appreciate any help you can give us.

HENRY
Leave your number and I'll call you when I find something.

                                                                                                                                                            CUT TO:

EXT. ANNA'S CAR WESTFIELD NEW JERSEY - DAY.
Anna tries to shove Sparky over as she climbs into the car. His large body doesn't budge.

ANNA
Move, Sparky, move.

Barking, the dog reluctantly moves to the passenger side. Anna fumbles with the key and then drops it on the floor.

ANNA
Oh, damn it.

Reaching down, she scoops them up. The dog growls.

ANNA
What's wrong, Sparky?

She starts to sit up when she sees two cops walking down the sidewalk. She ducks back down.

ANNA
Down, Sparky.

The dog lays on the seat.

Anna looks up to see the officers heading towards her car. She then notices the mask beside her. Pulling it to the floor, she stuffs it underneath her seat.

JEFF
I hope he's able to find something soon.

KEVIN
Me too.

Kevin checks his pocket.

JEFF
What are you looking for?

KEVIN
My cell phone. I must have dropped it in the store. I'll be right back.

Anna looks up to see the second cop walking towards her car.

ANNA
They don't know it's me, right?

Sparky whines.

Anna
They did figure out that I'm wearing a mask.

Glancing back up, she sees the cop is a couple feet away.

ANNA
What am I going to do, boy?

The dog growls.
