The fruit of passion

by astyanax

There takes roots
Passion's fruit
Growing in the garden
Among the produce of Eden

Even in an unrest climate
Properly motivated
It comes to harvest
The essence of happiness

Maintaining that field
Making worthy the yield
Doubts be weeded
Till ripe for the picking

Sow shall you reap
Keeping your eyes peeled
For an hearty frame of mind
Is better than the just the rind

Since good seeds make good crops
As it comes to develop
Have it be nurtured
Tend to become second nature

There to be evergreen
Unlike the deciduous trees
Climb the vines
Whatever the trellis design

Though not first pick in paradise
It is stem from life
This on a stead
Holding the apple that falls on the head

When taken fresh from the agora
And put in a cornucopia
It is that on a plate
Man's favorite fruit of taste
