Thank You Mother

The Glass is Half Full

by Sharon Meda

Neglecting me
Caused me to see
I am independent

Providing less
Made me self sufficient

Your callousness
And heartlessness
Have given my heart flame

Your weakness shown
My strength has grown
As I took care of you

Abusive you
Have taught me true
To turn the other cheek

By showing me
Who not to be
You've made me who I am

For all of this
And from the heart
Truly, thank you, Mother
