Children's poem

Winter Fun

On the porch sled runners
were glistening in the sun
waiting for the first snow
so there'd be winter fun.

We children were all excited
when the snow began to fall
soon we would be sledding
a happy day for us all.

Then the radio blared
there'd be no school today
we kids all shouted with glee
now we can go out to play.

We played all day in fluffy snow
even though our noses were cold
when it was time to go home
we ran and did as we were told.
