Seasons of Shame
Despite most gifts of wisdom
History and prayers have given us
It seems that we have wrapped them in sin
Then simply chucked them under the bus
These days so blessed with lessons so wise
Seem mindless and now only seeking disguise
Our elected leaders who promised us their best
Only seek retaliation for what's not giving them rest
It's no longer what's good for America that's upon their greedy mind
But how they can keep their crooked schemes that Trump plans to unwind
Damn now what's right for America is not their committed will
But how to defame the new cleanup guy and knock him off the hill
The press wants all the bucks that lies and accusations will stir sales
The television news wants to build their revenues by spouting lying tales
America, once proud of standing for the good of all
Is losing its integrity that should never be allowed to fall
The power of greed is seeming ever stronger than integrity
And if we, the people don't do something rather immediately
There shall soon be no more this land of liberty!
