Children have it tough...

Dos and Don'ts

by Heather Knight

You know punching friends
In the face is wrong.
It's better to make amends,
Please don't wait too long.

Saying an ogre stole your custard
Is definitely not right.
Mum will notice you are flustered
And there will be a big, big fight.

You shouldn't read under your duvet
When Dad tells you to go to bed.
I know the book is the best you could get,
But you don't want Dad to see red.

You mustn't call your sister names,
Even if she steals your toys.
You don't want her to take the blame.
You shouldn't lose your poise.

Life is full of rights and wrongs,
It's a difficult affair.
You're going to need lots of songs
Just to clean up the air.
