A poem about a mess

Uninvited Guests

by frogbook

Compact car in the garage-one inch left on each side,
looks like a tornado took the contents on a ride.

Emptied out storage shed, only to have it filled again.
Pulling out my hair, place's getting under my skin.

Garbage can spilled over, dogs run on the loose,
train tracks on the floor, trip over the caboose.

Papers flung everywhere, laundry piled high,
kitchen smells like a three-day old fish fry.

Toilet overflowing, sink full of stagnant water,
so is my home, since the move in of my daughter.

I've screamed and hollered, had a giant fit,
thought of giving up and just living in...it.

Now a new idea, slowly forms within my brain,
maybe, I should just completely come in from the rain.

Instead of getting angry, having my temper bent,
Whadda ya say-anybody have a place for rent?
