Baby Bunny Is All Grown Up

by Dawn Munro

Baby Bunny Is All Grown Up

I want to be the Easter Bunny -
I'm a big girl now.
Mom, I don't think it's very funny -
Daddy showed me how,

and Auntie Brenda sewed a suit
to wear in case of storm.
She says that I'll look really cute,
and it will keep me warm.

I'll look both ways at ev'ry street,
and cross with traffic lights.
I'll keep my Easter Basket neat,
and not get into fights.

I want to hide the jelly beans,
so won't you let me, please?
Aw, Mommy, I know what it means-
I know big boys will tease,

but Uncle Bobby built a bike
especially for me.
It's very fast - it's not a trike,
I'll ride away - you see?

Next year is WAY too far away,
I'm old enough THIS year.
Oh, Mommy, I will be okay.
What's that? Is that a TEAR?
