disco poem

disco away

by judester

That disco music
played much too loud
drew the A-listers
in a sequined crowd

Bianca Jagger,
an angel in white.
Warhol and Halston
avoiding the lights.

Beautiful models
powdered in cocaine,
dancing on star dust
like sparkling rain.

This was the place
just beyond that door,
the disco mecca
known as 54.

Then my dream ended
of modern day sin,
I plead with the bouncers....
that won't let me in.
