Whole

Whole

Would that there'd been another way -
He needed her, and she would ne'er refuse...
Old people, when they're questioned, often say
Love heals, and if a mother has to choose
Eternity with child will win the day...

~Dedicated to Jeni & Mickey, together and finally whole~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(The following is from a FaceBook post Jeni asked her friends to share):
Dedicated to my beautiful son, Mickey.
Today more than ever, I want the healing of addiction!! There's a personal reason for asking everyone to put this message on their status for at least 1 hour. I know who'll do it! Think of someone you love who has had an addiction or who is trying to fight this evil. I hope to see this on the status of all my friends. Don't share, but copy and paste!! Hold your finger text and it will highlight, select copy, then paste it on to your own wall.
The pain hurts more than just the addict, we hate the disease not the person!!
Amen
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*Author's notes continued* I have decided, thanks to the incredibly kind support of people who knew Jeni through her writing, that I am going to share this poem on Facebook too, but this time with few of the reviews it has received (or excerpts from them) so Jeni's family will see how much this woman's life touched others, was woven through the fabric of this writing site we shared and Jeni loved, like I do - I will also add a few of the many reviews to the other poem of tribute I wrote for her. Her family needs to see how much people here will miss her...

I am glad to think of Luna with her Mickey again. Her unselfish sharing of her story was a gift to those blessed enough to be touched by them. I am sad for our loss for she will be missed but I know how she longed to see her son again. Thank you for sharing this beautiful memorial. May it bring comfort to her family and friends. Dear Dawn, a beautiful acrostic, simple and true. Love finds a way to survive and heal...even after passing.

Dawn,

I read this last night on my phone when I was going to bed, and I just couldn't comment the way I wanted to so I left it for today. This is simply amazing. One of the best things I think I've ever read from you -- and there have been some really good things, as you know. *smile* THIS is a tribute. The family should get a copy of this.

The words are like diamonds falling through shafts of light. Really. I don't know how to describe it. I loved it. Comment Written 07-Mar-2017 by robyn corum

To lose a child for any reason, but to addiction has to be the worst. My thoughts and prays are with Luna and her children tonight. I pray for all those fighting addiction. I dealt with mine and am one of the fortunate, I survived. Bless you for this superb acrostic. The lines:

Love heals, and if a mother has to choose
Eternity with child will win the day... brought tears to my eyes, they are so true. Comment Written 06-Mar-2017 by Smurphgirlsasha

This is a heartfelt poem about the pain of losing someone to drugs and/or death.
Addiction hurts the addict and all those who love him/her. They are both together again in death. You get that idea through the use of eternity in the end. But the love heals gives hope that the addiction was conquered and they are a true family again.
