'More Opinions, Politics & Comments' ~ #53-401-B-C

To speak of love in broken quips
from hateful lips
while rancor builds,
gives rise to shrills.

It rips to pieces common ground
we may have found.
When reason's gone,
then hatred's spawned.

The chaos wrought is not forgot.
A lasting blot
with toxic stare
and chilling air.

Minute contest entry

This is a social commentary on the lack of civility citizens have toward each other. Regardless of politics, we must unify and try to find common ground. Thank you for reading my poetry.
