Born Impatient

by Heather Knight

I want it now,
I cannot wait.

When patience was shared around,
I was nowhere,
Could not be found.

I want it now,
This very minute.

Tapping my feet,
I urge time to go by.
I jump up and down on my seat.

I want it now,
Give it to me.

I'm like a child
Wishing to open a present.
I just turn wild.

I want it now,
I am impatient.

I fidget,
I doodle
I scribble
And pace.
Whatever you do,
Just don't make me wait.
