little green pine

by flylikeaneagle

God created the little green pine
With emerald leaves so long and fine.
The little green pine felt so alone
A songbird came and friendships were sown.

Birds delighted in the little pine.
They flew around in circular lines.
Back and forth many songbirds would play.
The green pine was happy, night and day.

Winter brought soft white snowflakes that fell
The birds snuggled close from face to tail.
They were warm inside the little pine.
The birds sang sweet songs when the sun shined.

New birds built their twig nests in the spring.
Baby birds flapped their wings and would sing.
With spring rains, the green pine grew and grew.
The tree was happy when the birds flew.

People came to watch the birds and pine.
Birds flew around in circular lines.
The birds filled the air with joyful songs
Together the pine and birds belonged.

The moral of the poem is everyone can be a friend.

Thanks Jax for promoting the photo challenges and jannypan for your garden photo.

I've been working weeding my garden. I wrote this poem about friendships. We
may seem alone. Be open to amazing friends. We all have gifts and talents!

My husband's class mates from high school are celebrating their 30th class reunion this weekend. They asked me to read my poem and create art work for the youth in the community, Saturday, 09 July 2016.

Our city is having the Rhythm of the River, celebrating art with music, art and stories. We have a new art gallery downtown on Main Street. The leaders plan on teaching art classes. I asked to teach poetry to connect with their artwork. We plan on inspiring and encouraging artists to bloom! Enjoy the story in my poem!
