No knowledge of existence can help escape death

Our Last Enemy

by Jonadab Ezerie

I dedicated this poem to all who at a point in time lost someone close to them
Our journey through life, just like the morning dew
The sun comes out, steals the show, then it's out of view
Our battles through life, just like a fight against oppression
We're in haste, lose focus, then snub the effects of depression
Our priorities through life, just like healing a broken bone
We feel accomplished, we relax, then snub a broken soul

No matter what we do, we submit to an enemy
No matter who we are, we dance to his melody
No matter how good life is, everything is vanity
No matter the good we do, we can't survive eternity.

We are searching for relief, yes, a paradise
Putting faith in the one who made the sacrifice
We have found relief, yes, a resurrection
Putting faith in the one who has the connection

He will call aloud, and we will hear his voice
Then the dead will answer, rise and rejoice
He will deliver us from the last enemy- death
Then be raised to life with everlasting breath

The poem is about the journey of life, the struggles and battles we face, and the ultimate search for relief and resurrection.
The subject matter of the poem revolves around the challenges and experiences of life, the inevitability of death, and the hope for a resurrection and everlasting life.
Using "healing a broken bone" and "snub a broken soul" creates a powerful contrast, highlighting the importance of not neglecting emotional well-being.
The poem reflects on the universal human experience of facing struggles, seeking relief, and ultimately finding hope in faith and resurrection. It addresses the existential questions of life, death, and eternity, offering comfort and reassurance.
