Sheep in a Peaceful Valley

by michaelcahill

IS IT WISE TO RELY ON THE SHEPHERD?

Sheep in a Peaceful Valley

It seems like this meadow is suited and safe and inviting
for all of our needs, and we cuddle and softly we share
all that life has to offer, for there just isn’t anything
dreamed of we’re lacking; our life is lived without worry or care.

Look. We just must feed them increasing the wool that we hack,
for that’s how we get those cool Pendleton shirts that you wear,
and those skin-tight dungaree slacks with the cute cutout back;
so your boss has quick access to your derrière.
Meadows cost money to grow; green grass ain’t no cheap snack.
We’ve got to slash costs and raise profits with greediforous flare;
they sure can eat less, so figure it out—save what is left of your sack!

It seems like we had more to eat in the past did not we?
And we certainly had much more room whenever we played;
and when did these creatures with stinging, steel sticks come to be?
We’ve done nothing bad to deserve the sad fate we’ve been paid.
Well, what should we do? We can’t live in this pure misery.
Oh well, I really can’t say. I just live here, It’s not what I made.

Dammit!

Profits are down,

            trim the herd--right now.

IN A JIFF!

Point, then watch,

            you’ll see,

                  those damn foolish sheep

        will

              walk

                   right

                          off

                                the

                                     cliff.......

Recognized

Greediforous: Acting with greedy intentions showing great flare and style. It usually involves wearing a hat and festive underwear.

HUMAN VS SHEEP BRAIN

The pineal gland is responsible for controlling reproduction and circadian rhythms, and they happen to be larger in the sheep's brain when compared to the human brain, that has less basic instinctual behavior controls. There is also a difference in the positioning of the human hind brain, which is different from the sheep because of the human's erect position.

Personal observations and reflections

I find the human's erect position to be especially interesting when considering the current world state of affairs. This erect position may have a debilitating effect on judgment and could easily become a major distraction. These, of course, are my personal observations based on having been erect and continuing to be erect for most of my life. I understand that there may be those who have other experiences and opinions.

No sheep were harmed in the composing of this piece. And no humans were either. I remain erect and at the ready. Thank you for reading my work.
