I looked upon a fading face
and prayed for time for thee.
I wondered how we'd end this race
and prayed that time would be
more merciful on me than thee.
 
O Sister, why did time descend
into our world of light?
How could it be it was the end?
Why fallest dreadful night?
I prayed that time would stop in flight.
 
I saw our Mother's grievous eyes,
and screamed to God above,
"How is it you don't hear her cries?
Don't see undying love?"
My Mother, now, a mourning dove.
 
Accursed time, I pray thee cease
before thy grasp disrupts her peace
another time, with my release.
