Shock Senryu writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt Shock Senryu Write a senryu which incorporates an element of *horror or **terror. A senryu is a Japanese poem similar in structure to haiku, but more concerned with human nature, and is often humorous or satiric -- usually in three lines of seventeen kana. It contains seventeen syllables OR LESS. Artwork of any kind is welcome. Above all else, just have fun writing while trying to make your readers squirm. *hor-ror [hawr-er, hor-] -- an overwhelming and painful feeling caused by something frightfully shocking, terrifying, or revolting; a shuddering fear: to shrink back from a mutilated corpse in horror. **ter-ror [ter-er] 1. intense, sharp, overmastering fear: to be frantic with terror. 2. an instance or cause of intense fear or anxiety; quality of causing terror: to be a terror to evildoers. 3. any period of frightful violence or bloodshed likened to the Reign of Terror in France. |
