Children's poem focused on letter G

Animals Galore!

by Linda Kay

Animals Galore!

At animal school,
The day's letter was "G"
So gazillions of animals,
Jumped with glee.
They growled, then grunted,
Then shouted "Yippee,"
The letter of the day is
All about me!

At 3 o'clock sharp,
It was time to get going,
The animals' pride
And knowledge was growing,
They returned to their homes
Grinning and glowing,
They used the ""G" sound
To put on this showing:

Gaggles of geese glided gracefully.

Geckos glimpsed greedily at grasshoppers.

Gallant gazelles grazed in green grass.

Gibbons gabbed, greeting others in groups.

Golden eagles gazed graciously.

Gorillas grunted grouchily.

Gophers gorged under ground.

Goldfish glimmered as golden globs.

Goats gobbled garbage greedily.

Gallons of guppies gulped in the gulf,

But then one tall creature
Jeered "Enough is enough!"
What about me?
I'm different you see.
I use another sound
Made by letter "G"

And the
Jolly giraffe jaunted joyfully through the jungle!

The lack of rhyme and consistent meter in the inner part of the poem is intentional - just going for alliteration there.
Pays one point and 2 member cents.
