I woke up this morning
Heard a whisper in my ear
Said "Go back up the mountain
Something more you need to hear"

The voice kept on haunting me
Till no longer could I sleep
Is it my soul or sanity
That mountain wants to keep

Is there really such a place
Or just a figment in my mind
Why does it keep haunting me
Is there more I need to find

Last trip up He told me
Of all the things He's done
What I failed to ask Him
Is why he took my son

Was there any reason
I'll always question why
He's no longer with us
Why was he the one to die

Said to take His hand
Put my trust in Him
But I must be honest
My faith now is rather dim

Last time on that mountain
His words went to my heart
The more I kept on thinking
It just tore my heart apart

Now it's very hard for me
Believing words He had to say
That there is a better place
And He will show the way

Again I'll climb that mountain
Before it takes another toll
For If I've lost my sanity
Perhaps, I can save my soul
