High wind heralds fire season

Gale-Force Wind

by persevere

Gutting the eaves and shaking the trees
And slamming the doors as past them it roars
Leaving behind trash of every kind
Eerily haunting and definitely daunting

Fire fighters engage as flames begin to rage
Offering no respite in the desperate fight
Rare plants devoured as mountain is scoured
Creating consternation for plans conservation
Everything smashed and obviously trashed

Water contained pods defying the odds
Instantly dropped, helicopter propped
Nearly three days, the fire's last phase
Downward graded , the wind now faded.
