Excellent
Not yet exceptional. When the exceptional rating is reached this is highlighted
A love that took a bad turn.

Signed and Sealed

From the moment that you asked me to be your wife
I thought that I would be your queen for life.

I could not stand for us to be apart
If we were separated it hurt my heart.

I thought I needed you to give me direction
You were generous with your criticism and corrections.

You seemed eager to help me get better
I needed someone strong to help me stay together.

As I grew and matured, I began to see things differently,
You loved the complete control that you had over me.

You had preyed on my innocence and made me believe I needed you
That I was incapable of thinking for myself, it was untrue.

I began to see in the mirror a capable woman, who could think on my own.
When you began to lose control, you isolated me to make me feel alone.

It was your own insecurities that you tried to hide,
That is why you said those horrible things to make me cry.

Today as I sign these papers, I will end this relationship
I will start over and will be free to make new friendships

I will no longer hear how I couldn't get anything right
I will no longer have to cry myself to sleep at night.

It's ironic, that I would thank you for making me
The strong woman that I have turned out to be.

I wanted desperately for our love to last
Forever and always, now that's all in the past.

I am on my way to start a new life
one without sorrow and one without strife.
