An Acrostic

Football Fever

Football fever fires us up in the fall
Obsession with outerwear, numbered jerseys and all.
Oval-shaped object tossed through the air
Tailgating mania is quite the affair.
Booze it up big, then head for the stands
Armchair quarterbacks argue game plans.
Loyalty to team, til they fall behind
Loud and obnoxious, less the end zone they find.

Flags flying high, painted faces extreme
End with a championship, every fan's dream
Vivacious cheerleaders chanting the cheers
Emotions evoked - deafening our ears.
Rush to the field or run home in tears.

*Arm-chair quarterbacks - fans who like to sit in the stands and second guess every play that is called.
I'm a football fan but not a fanatic. I do catch a slight case of the fever for my Arkansas Razorbacks. Go Hogs Go!!! The above picture does not depict any favorite NFL team. There were lots of crazy pictures to choose from. 8-)
