A metaphor of fear expressed through bloody rain

A chapter in the book From out of the Grayness

Bloods Rain

by His Grayness

Blood Rains By: Vance Seagle

Once in silent steps

There came the devil's blade plunged deep.

The shock of it, as blood spilled forth

Was sharp as fear's own scythe could reap.

***

It cut through skin, sinew and bone,

Beyond the heart, deep to the soul.

Gripping the very essence of death

I felt all love could not make whole

***

As never ceases to amaze,

In the midst of trials they come.

I still can see their torches high,

God's warriors marched sung forth by drums.

***

Now as the battle dims and fades

The dryness of solitude clings.

Still embers fall, not yet found cold

And their echoed shouts still heard to ring

***

We shall not leave, the love, the pain

Forever soaked by fear's blood rains
