A perspective on the health of AMERICA

A chapter in the book From out of the Grayness

American Biopsy

by His Grayness

Here aloft, on passion's thrones,
The king of obfuscation moans
The clowns of hope and joy won't dance
To hold the servant's hearts in trance
While words of hard reality prevailed
Now the truth is out his promise failed

The food is gone, the fires died
The thirst does rage, the ponds have dried
The liars sang, to hopeful hoards
The king endorsed with twisted words
While naked streets give way to crimes
The drug lords service growing lines

The masses weep as death commands
Where hope once ruled on promised lands
But why should fallen hopes prevail
Where once there was a golden trail
That carried dreams and wishes songs
From pasts of woes where death belongs

The wearied beasts and wagons broke
Now mark the trail where maybe spoke
Then sagebrush came to bury all
And hide the graves where hope did fall
Now dust remains to call again
Where pioneers fresh hopes begin

If faith and courage honored still
The righteous soul shall have it's will
America might live again
And overcome its leader's sin
