The Moon & Earth's dalliance in cosmic night.
Blood Moon, Shadow Moon
by healfromwithin
Blood Moon, Shadow Moon
Blood moon, shadow moon, In crimson cosmic splendor; Costumed in your scarlet gown, Earth gazes on in wonder… His shadow lies upon your face, Earth hides your lunar light; At full eclipse, the blood moon calls- A dalliance in cosmos night. You shyly peek from ‘neath your veil, Slowly slipping into view… To bask in sun’s reflected light, Garbed again in luminous hue. |

Tonight, the Earth passed between the sun and the moon, casting a shadow onto the Moon. When fully-eclipsed, the moon was blood-red; a "Blood Moon."
This poem portrays the Moon as female, dressed in a crimson gown when fully eclipsed; the Earth, her lover, jealously hides the Moon from the sun's view, enveloping her within his possessive shadow.
After her brief dalliance with the Earth, the Moon slips back out through the night, to find her true place, casting her silver glow, reflecting the Sun's luminous light.
