Healed

I'm doing better, Michael
you wouldn't know me now
I don't spend hours searching
for my real.

I've given up the need to find
that girl I never was
Without the "Mrs." I've had time
to heal.

For when you slip into another's
thoughts and cares and dreams
your own lie empty, shriveled,cold
then dead.

My inner woman, screaming out
for love was never heard
My mindless views (just that) stayed
in my head.

I'm doing better, Michael
for the young girl deep inside
decided she was worthy
of her dreams.

I live and know I choose for me
a life of honest giving
I miss you so- but I'm alive
and free.
