Memories

While strolling down the lane of memories
Through happiness and sadness we have passed
After, our thoughts are filed away upstairs
And where forever, they will always last

Some days we decide to explore up there
Searching the darkest corners of our mind
Events perhaps forgotten long ago
We never know what mem’ries we shall find

Mementos from family, friends, lovers
Reflections brought back from a former day
Along with those we prefer to ignore
Will be encountered along the way

Acceptance of both a necessity
On the negative take care not to dwell
Today does hold tomorrow’s memories
Treasure this day and spend it living well
