Why I love gray
A chapter in the book From out of the Grayness
Fantasy

Fantasy: By: His Grayness
Dear fantasy I do love you so But you never pay the bills In fact you're quite the opposite You always want the frills I love you for you carry me To places in my mind Where secret thoughts and treasures My logic would not find You never care what time it is For time is not your friend You need to have control of me Till your passion finds its end Your world is made of maybes Hard reason has no rank You say such painful energies Belong in a "think tank" But fantasy is freedom To create a place surreal Like a garden of orange apples That you never have to peel Or growing mashed potatoes That never needs any soil Just put your eyes in water And bring them to a boil You could never be a conductor On a train or sweet ballet For you haven't any disciplines And all things to you are gray So that is why I love you so As black and white won't do For gray creates my fantasies And poems make them true |
