May we never hear them...(jaq cee)
Noises of War.
by Jaq Cee
Cacophony Poem Contest Winner
I listen to the sirens
as they fill our war torn town.
Now it's time to hide ourselves
as the bombs come THUNDERING down.
The RAT-A-TAT-TAT sounds out loud
when the Ack-Ack fires its wares.
The WHOOSH and WHINE of armaments
pepper the sky with shells and flares.
An air of silence permeates
as the aircraft's DRONE abates.
Now it's time to re-emerge
to the chaos war creates.
Write a Cacophony poem of between four and 12 lines. This type of poetry uses harsh, discordant, and jarring words, to make the reader imagine noise. Any subject, but keep it clean.
