House of Horrors

House of Horrors
(A Pantoum)

When Haunted House you travel through,
You brave the feel of doom and gloom,
Where fright's the plight attacking you ,
In spider's web, with witches broom.

You brave the feel of doom and gloom,
In corners where dark phantom lurks.
In spider's web, with witches broom,
While groping hands cause jumps and jerks.

In corners where dark phantom lurks,
The slimy walls contain stark screams.
While groping hands cause jumps and jerks
Nothing appears just as it seems.

The slimy walls contain stark screams.
Where fright's the plight attacking you .
Nothing appears just as it seems.
When Haunted House you travel through.

During Halloween, there are many Houses of Horror or Haunted Houses that people visit to get a scare.

This Poem is a Pantoum
The Pantoum is a classic repeating form of Malay origins.
In it the second and fourth lines of each stanza become the first and third lines of the next stanza until we reach the final stanza where the first and third lines of the first stanza become the second and fourth lines of the final stanza, but in reverse order, so that the poem begins and ends with the same line.
