Sandcastles

Sandcastles
Often when I have time to spare I build sandcastles in the air When I am down and life unfair I enjoy my pretend castles without a care While in my castles I am young and free And can be whoever I want to be All around beauty is what I see While angels sing joyously Never realizing disability I would wear Now to you my soul I’ll bare I once was a looker, but now I prepare For that inevitable stare If only in my castles I could stay Safe from harm night and day Taking time to write poetry and pray With freedom to spend my time at play |
