Snakes
( A Free Verse Poem)


Snakes that slither
Silently,
With venom in their jaws,
Create tremendous fear in me,
I can barely tolerate.
I see them cross a forest path,
Or hide under the rocks.
Ready to attack my feet,
Should I step wrong.
Slimy silent killers.
