MIND GPS

Oh how we struggle with what to do
Each thought, each vision, each wish
Becomes a temporary fairy tale
That we think we want to come true

Life seems so complex and uncertain
It's as ponderous as a magic show
Trying to avoid tricks and distractions
Wondering what's behind the curtain

Would it not be a truly great invention?
If there was a GPS for the mind
To tell us when to laugh, when to cry
And make adjustments for bad intentions

Perhaps such a thing today, truly does exist
But so simple we don't always trust it
For there's no flashing lights or wires
And no keyboard, gizmos, or knobs to twist

I think it would still remain entirely digital
Only two states of condition would apply
Somewhat like our human emotions
When to laugh or cry seems so conditional

Perhaps God would be willing to program it
With the GPS name "God's Plain & Simple"
There are only two states of mind to be in
Love and Fear would define where all minds fit

So you think you're driving down happy street
Delighted with life and full of pure gratitude
But the GPS says "welcome to LOVE Boulevard
This is where hearts and souls chance to meet

Then some fool cuts you off without thinking
You swerve down the alley to miss a crash
While the GPS starts screaming "FEAR" alley
As you thought a "Mad" light should be blinking

So the GPS will show you only two states of mind
Which are simply FEAR and LOVE, not emotions
As they all fit only in one or the other of above
For they are truly the only two choices you will find

In LOVE you are creative, with GOD, and joy abounds
But when in FEAR, you have chosen to turn away
You will find darkness, anger, pain and suffering
And your GPS making loud and ugly warning sounds
