Oozed a soggy blues tune

The whore in the park

Traded lies with the hobo

The cop in the diner

Made love to his brew

...

In the sticky wet bushes

By the war hero statue

A ghost with a knife

Found a jogger to screw

...

So the ma's and the pa's

And the yuppies and brats

Pulled their curtains and shades

And silk bathrobes up tight

Snuggled their TV's and iPODS's and cognac

And hoped that their hopes

But it rose from the lake

From the sewers to the air
