poem with some rhyme
The Cat and the Mermaid
by mermaids
racing along the dock
she throws me fish contentment in my soul is all that I wish scratching behind my ears her watery hand reassures me as I shut my yellow eyes she is my friend from the sea her tail rises above the waves my tail is long and hairy laughing as we play until our bodies are weary a pirate arrives in anger with a menacing grin my hackles arise the mermaid I defend he raises a spear longing to capture my claws extend he is doomed for sure pouncing on his neck my mermaid dives below his comrades roar in laughter they are enjoying the show backwards he tumbles off the deck, into the sea a great white opens wide enjoying this human delicacy my lady fish giggles the evil one is gone she throws me more fish and sings a song |
