This dark and evil spec of thought
Fallen rude and foul upon the naked flesh
Of my bright and hopeful curiosity

Where the angel of truth and wisdom
Was called to sit and teach
At the bloody chopping block
Of my soul's dark animosity

I called for grace and purity of light
That follows wisdom and foils fear
And now you stir the stinging swarm
Of Memory's lies to blind my sight
And deafen truth before my ear

The night stretches long and willful
Hoping now to manufacture my dreams
But I shall not more abide its wishes
For my prayers will not a moment more wait
The light has brightly and clearly arrived
Guiding me straightaway to Heaven's Gate
