The Yeti and I
by mermaids
a blizzard so fierce
I fall on my ass scraping the car windows barely made it home from work wet and stinging cold the storm rages as if on a destructive mission lights out nature is in charge a form behind me observing my movements the eight foot yeti is fascinated by my clearing away of snow from my camery he begins to assist me I faint in the snow the icy air revives me, the fluffy ape looks worried hovering over me slowly I rise up too tired from my busy life to run from the yeti I begin to babble about my woes paying bills, shoveling snow, my cat's bad breath the giant white creature listens intently he seems to actually care and I fall back into a pile of snow he lifts me up points to the cardinal on a branch he makes a small snowman and coos like a dove he wants to play so I join this New England yeti in frolicking about the snow ceases falling the sun arrives with a glow my big hairy friend smiles and waves good-bye off he trots into the woods the yeti and I enjoyed some fun in the coldness of winter deep inside I know he will return in the next blizzard we will have fun again and away from my cares I will be |
