A fairy gets a little more than she bargained for.
Mushrooms for Sue
by Cindy Warren
A hungry fairy by the name of Sue
Needed some mushrooms for her stew. She searched the forest and all around But there were no mushrooms to be found. She said "I need a little spell To make mushrooms fill each shady dell." She danced and sang her mushroom song Till all around her things went wrong. She saw mushrooms tall and mushrooms wide But not a tree or flower could be spied. A forest of mushrooms all around her grew But gone were all the things she knew. "Oh my, I must make things right Before the sun sets tonight. My forest friends will be so upset with me, For cold and frightened they will be." Dancing and chanting till the fall of night, Sue finally managed to set things right. She's happy to have her friends all back Sharing berries for their bedtime snack. |
