How the prince became a frog
A Royal Frog
by Cindy Warren
He used to be a handsome prince
But do you know what's happened since? He sits upon a lily pad Because he made the witches mad. He came upon a witch's daughter Bathing in the river's water. He told the girl all his lies, Now he spends his days catching flies. He promised her she'd be a queen, The prettiest queen that's ever been. Soon a little prince was on the way And he was gone the very next day. The girl cried and told her mom Who called all the witches to come. That cheating prince will never be king Till the witch's daughter wears his ring. Back into a prince he won't be turned Until a lesson he has learned. He spies a pretty tadpole by a log, So for now he remains a frog. |
