time for my washing
wings need to be spruced up
my mate orders me to
a pearly white dish
in a yard filled with life
I dip and splash
as a lone finch joins
my bathing ritual
she tells me to wash
under my wings
blue beauty that I am
perfection of the highest
those who watch me through
long eye glasses
need to be happy to
see such a creation as me
so this finch and several
sparrows join me in the
water and we have a
battle of good fun
my mate asks "why I am a
fluffy mess?"
my ego deflated
I dance to fit my
new hairdo.
