many people disappear

The Midnight Hour

by harleyangelbrat

Minutes after midnight, the news flashed the words, “Missing.” This went on for days as the newscasters frantically announced that millions upon millions of people had disappeared. There were different speculations about what happened to all those people.

Some people said it was aliens and others warned that it was the second coming of Christ. Others decided it was the government, but that theory didn't last.

Elizabeth's family was among the missing and she knew in her heart that it was the Rapture. Her parents had warned her and she always intended to make things right, but never took the time to say the sinner's prayer. Even after all the disasters and warnings, she ignored their words.

Now, as she sat on the floor of her apartment, in tears, she knew she had to pray and live through the seven years of Tribulation that were to come. She finally turned off her television and read her Bible. She clung to it as if it was the very breath she needed to survive...and it was.

As days passed, she joined a large group of people at the church who were determined to get the word out to others. It would be easy at first, but then they all knew the Anti-Christ would appear and fool people into believing that he was actually the Savior of the world. People would be forced to take the mark of the beast in their foreheads or hand just to receive food or supplies. Cash would be no more. It would become a one world government ruled by the beast, himself.

Elizabeth and her new friends set out on their mission, finding it difficult to reach so many stubborn people. They showed them in the Bible in Revelations about the second coming of Christ and the Tribulation, but they laughed or scoffed at God's word. Their hearts were burdened for the lost people because they were afraid it would be too late when they finally realized the group of Christians were telling the truth.

Noah's Ark and Sodom and Gommorrah came to her mind as she ran across so many people eating, drinking and being merry as if nothing had happened. Most of them wouldn't even listen, but some of them were eager to know what to do. They gathered together and told their own stories of missing relatives and friends. Several prayed and received Jesus as their Savior. This made the group joyful and thankful each time the right decision was made.

The world around them was falling apart and that day was upon them. They knew they had to die to see Heaven. They had missed their chance to join the Lord in the Rapture, but they were determined to make it right. So many had joined them, but many more had refused. The world was in chaos now and last days were upon them.

As the saints were lined up to die, they joined hands until they were taken to the gallows for refusing the mark of the beast. Fear left them as they closed their eyes before their last breath. They knew that “to be absent from the body would mean they would finally be in the presence of the Lord.”

Matthew 24:40 – “Then shall two be in the field; one shall be taken and the other left.”

1 Thessalonians 4: 14 -17 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
