A pleasant surprise.
A chapter in the book If The Jester Cried At Night
The Winter Rose
by mrgrunty
Revelations on the floor,
lead eyes unto my bed. Rather than its emptiness, a rose I found instead. Petals were not yet unfurled, it curled into a ball. Your naked beauty glowing, it shimmered off the wall. A pleasant sight to greet me, this winter afternoon. It's weeks since I have seen you, ensconced within my room. The finest floral tribute, I found here in my bed. Much more than happy birthday, I've got you here instead. |
