the beast it comes to life.

An all consuming body freeze
has filled your legs with lead.
The taste of metal in your mouth,
as panic guides your head.

You can't remember yesterday,
stares focused on the night.
The slightest shadow comes to life
and won't unleave your sight.

The morning comes with golden strands,
and birds with welcome, hark.
Embarrassed thoughts are turned to shame,
with loathing of the dark.
